Info Product Creation Part Iii- How To Create A List Of Possible Business Opportunities
In last article we discussed about people’s needs and reasons why your business should focus around their needs.
Also your own sphere of knowledge and skills is important. You cannot run a business about a thing that you do not understand at all.
Your sphere is determined by
Your hobbies and interests.
Your skills.
Your knowledge.
Your natural abilities and passions.
Let us see one by one how you can create a business out of each of them. I again reiterate that best results are produced when you choose a business that will utilize all of them together.
Your Hobbies and Interests: This is what inherently interest you. It could be pets, music, literature, cell phones, fitness, cars, buildings or anything. We all have varied interests. We all like some things more than others. When we like something we tend to learn more about it, whether we know or not. Our mind is more focused on the trends and happening of these things. Note down the things you like or have interest in doing.
See if you can use your knowledge to provide some service or product. For example how to bring up a dog or how to select a good cell phone. Make these notes in your own field.
Your Skills: Skills are what you can do or are trained to do. For example music is hobby, playing a guitar is skill as well. Bringing up a dog is a hobby but copywriting is a skill and together these can produce a good ebook.
Your Knowledge: You may take it for sure that people generally have knowledge about the things they have interest in. But we also possess knowledge by virtue of our education. One may have plenty of knowledge because he or she has studied it for so many years. Believe me! Not many people are fortunate to study in the field they are interested in. Job security, job requirements, career are few of many things which push them into rut and which they continue in spite of having different personal interests and likings. But this knowledge also adds an extra quality to those people.
This knowledge from education can be used to create products and services.
Your Natural Abilities and Passions: While your passions may revolve around your interests but your natural abilities may not be necessarily so. You may be passionate about cricket but it is not necessary that you are good in playing that too. You may be a good speaker or storyteller instead. Think about your natural abilities. Note them down. Now find out and note down the one you are most passionate followed by others.
In four columns that you built by noting down your interests, skills, knowledge and abilities, you have written down your strong points.
Best opportunity to conduct business would arise from here.
Brainstorm and write down the niches and possible business you are going to do in that area. Create a list of plausible services and products that can be created.
Now rearrange your list.
In the top put those business opportunity which require minimum further learning of skills.
Then write those which would require more input. If possible put a time tag on the skills that you would be required to spend in learning.
After this we would search the market to check the feasibility and profitability of the niches and business possibilities you have listed.
